ARAPAWA RAM
ARAPAWA RAM
Arapawa Ram descend from a small flock of domestic sheep that over 200 years ago were let loose on a small island of the same name near the coast of New Zealand. The purpose of the release was to create a food source for the crews of the ships that passed by, but a few generations later the sheep evolved into small, wary and shy creatures, and the sailors discovered that they had to hunt hard for the mutton. Later, Arapawa sheep were released, as game animals, to New Zealand.
These rams make for great add on or stand alone hunts with the trophy rams ranging from one and a half to two full curls and up to 40" in horn length.
